TRAVEL
ARRIVING BY AIR: You can be picked up at any of the state's major airports by seaplane. Flight time to any of the cabins listed is less than an hour from Bangor International (BIA) and less than a half hour from Presque Isle (PQI). If you are acoming to the area via private aircraft, Millinocket has a conveniently located airport with instrument approach. You can be picked up there by seaplane.Car Rental is available at Bangor and Presque Isle Airports.
TRAVELING BY VEHICLE: Many of the cabins listed in "Maine Cabins" are accessible by road. Some are accessible by seaplane only. A word of caution: Some locations are accessed by some fairly rough and muddy logging roads. Be sure to consult the cabin guide to insure you choose the appropriate mode of transportation for your cabin choice.
The Maine Atlas and Gazetteer is a great travel reference. It is a book of maps that show almost all the logging roads, ponds and lakes in this great State of Maine. The Atlas may be obtained at most stores in Maine or ordered at www.delorme.com
